Nicholas Anokhin

Dance-a1

Nicholas Anokhin is one of the artists I admire very much. Just looking at his painting I wonder into his world. His rich application of color, texture…well… just about everything is what I like to see in paintings.  When I was painting this image, I thought about the way he painted the oak tree and how successfully he captured the appearance of the tree bark. So I applied a little texture to my tree too. I had a fun.

I like the contrast in texture between the front and rear trees. And I learned about Anokhin too.

Thank you very much for leaving me a nice comment. I really like Anokhin. I did not know much about Russian artists until recently. The more I learned about them, the more I like to know.
